Now you all heard how amazing Olivier’s Granola was in our previous post ‘Olivier’s Granola’.

We had some fantastic feedback from both our regular and some new guests, with many of you giving his recipe a go yourselves!

We loved seeing your photos and hearing how you got on.

So guess what, we have another one of Olivier’s easy to follow recipes for you to try at home.

Olivier’s Bircher Museli Recipe

This time we treat you to Olivier’s Bircher Museli Recipe.

Made with only natural ingredients, this Bircher Museli is a winner every time if you enjoy a healthy, hearty breakfast like we do.

Olivier’s Bircher Museli Recipe is handy for preparing in advance so you never have to wait around in the mornings, avoiding the dreaded question ‘what should I have for breakfast?’

This early morning treat will be ready for you when you need it most.

So whether you like easy mornings or you just enjoy a really good museli, Oliviers recipe of bircher museli will start your day with a spring in your step…you can trust us!

 

INGREDIENTS

Serves 4 to 6 people

200g rolled oats

200ml soya milk (full fat milk, low fat milk, or rice milk if you prefer)

80ml apple juice

2tbsp yoghurt (low fat or normal)

1 large granny smith apple, cored and roughly grated

2tbsp agave nectar

60g raisins (optional)

½ tsp vanilla extract

Juice of 1 lime

60g walnuts, lightly toasted and roughly chopped (almonds are lovely too)\

 

METHOD

We like to serve it just with the granny smith apple but you can also add:

Your choice of fresh, poached or roasted seasonal fruit – plums, peaches, apples, pears, rhubarb – and/or fresh berries (optional)

1. Put the oats in a large mixing bowl and add the milk and apple juice. Stir and leave aside for 10 minutes to soften. You can leave them to soak overnight in the fridge, which will soften them up a bit more, but it’s not necessary.

2. When ready to serve, add the yoghurt, grated apple, agave nectar, raisins, walnuts, vanilla and lime juice.

3. Stir and transfer to serving bowls. Top with fresh fruit to your liking.
